Hardy Drive Diversion Manhole Renovation
- Competitive Bid Win:
- Awarded through competitive bid with Caliente Construction under City of Tempe General Construction Services JOC.
- High Self-performance:
- Self-performed over 87% of the project work.
- Manhole Replacement:
- Removed and replaced three deteriorated concrete manholes on 24" and 30" sewer lines with two new 72" and 96" corrosion-resistant Armorock Polymer manholes.
- Hydraulic and Odor Improvements:
- Enhanced hydraulic characteristics and minimized foul odors on the sewer line.
- High-traffic Area:
- Project located at the intersection of Hardy and 17th Place near ASU campus.
- Sewer Bypass Systems:
- Installed two sewer bypass systems on 30" and 12" lines, including 24/7 pump-watch, entirely self-performed.
- Traffic and Public Coordination:
- Collaborated with City of Tempe for traffic control planning and public outreach, communicating construction impacts to adjacent homeowners.
- Additional Work:
- Included pavement removal/replacement, storm drain re-routing, CCTV inspection, air testing, and striping replacement.
- Timely Completion:
- Completed the project in less than three weeks to meet holiday traffic restriction requirements.
